Genetic divergence and heterosis in pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.)

Information on genetic divergence and heterosis is derived from data on 11 yield components in 6 parental genotypes and their 15 F1 hybrids grown during kharif 1992 in Kaul, Haryana. All 21 genotypes could be clustered into 7 clusters. Cluster I was the largest with 9 genotypes. Cluster III had the most divergent genotypes and maximum mean values for seed yield/plant, plant spread, branches/plant and seeds/pod.
