Genetic study of laying interval in brown Tsaiya ducks (Anas platyrhynchos var. domestica)

In 368 ducks caged individually, egg number and egg production percentage to 60 weeks of age averaged 252 and 85.6 respectively. At 25, 35, 45 and 55 weeks of age, the average interval between ovipositions were almost identical (23.9-24.0 h), and the hsuperscript 2 of oviposition interval at these ages was 0.03, 0.16, 0.04 and 0.11 respectively. The genetic correlations of egg production percentage with oviposition interval at the 4 ages were - 0.71, -0.69, -0.74 and -0.55.
