Gene diversity (expected heterozygosity, He) and gene pool diversity (V) were studied in 6 indigenous populations of Pinus sylvestris in Bulgaria at altitudes ranging from 900 to 1700 m. Data are tabulated on allele frequencies for 7 loci, and genetic distances were determined. The results confirm the high total genetic diversity of P. sylvestris, the vast majority of the total genetic variability being intra-population; inter-population variability was slight.
