Green asparagus: results of 7 years of experimentation

Green asparagus: results of 7 years of experimentation

Revue Suisse de Viticulture, d' Arboriculture et d' Horticulture 26(2): 91-96

Trials were conducted with a number of cultivars for green asparagus production. High density planting in double rows (3.3 plants/msuperscript 2) did not yield significantly more than planting in single rows (2.7 plants/msuperscript 2) over a 5-year period (1989-93). Cultivar Lucullus gave the highest yield in the fifth year (1130 g/msuperscript 2 in single rows) and the highest cumulative yield.
