Growth of F1 Bos taurus x Bos indicus beef cattle in Venezuela. II. Initial, final, and carcass weight of bulls, and breeding weight of heifers

In 2 experiments, calves were produced by insemination of zebu cows of Brahman type on 2 ranches in the Venezuela floodplain. Semen of progeny-tested Brahmans was used to produce the 2 control groups, and that of Charolais, Limousin, Marchigiana, Romosinuano and Simmental bulls in experiment 1 and of Aberdeen-Angus, Chianina, Gelbvieh, Limousin and Simmental bulls in experiment 2 to produce F1 progeny. The effects of breed group on all weights were significant.
