Abstract
A CRYBA2 probe was used to map the mouse gene (Cryba2) to the central portion of chromosome 1 by restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis of DNA from interspecific backcross mice. The human gene was mapped by analysis of human x rodent somatic hybrid cells. In both species, the beta A2 crystallin gene was linked to the gamma A crystallin gene, but separable from it.
