Identification of the main neolignan constituents of rhatany (Krameria triandra roots) by HPLC-MS and GC-MS

Identification of the main neolignan constituents of rhatany (Krameria triandra roots) by HPLC-MS and GC-MS

Fitoterapia 65(6): 503-514

The roots of K. triandra are used in the preparation of astringent and antiinflammatory preparations. The methanolic extract of roots of Peruvian origin (obtained from a commercial source) was analysed for its neolignan composition, using HPLC-TSP-MS and GC-MS. The separation in HPLC was obtained on a reversed-phase column using a water-acetonitrile gradient. GC-MS analyses were carried out after trimethylsilylation.
