The effect of temperature on the biology of P. megistus was investigated to find optimum conditions for mass rearing this species in the laboratory for xenodiagnosis and control studies. The experiments were carried out in 2 controlled chambers at RH 70+or-5% and L:D 12:12 h photoperiod, and at 25+or-0.5 degrees C and 30+or-1 degrees C, respectively.
