Inheritance of harvest index in spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) crosses with different plant height



Pesquisa Agropecuaria Brasileira 29(9): 1445-1452



Nine crosses were performed between the genotypes Maringa (tall), IPF55243 (semi-dwarf) and IPF55245, D8006 and D8017 (all dwarf). Analysis of data from parents and F1, F2, BC1F1 and BC2F1 generations showed genotypic variability for harvest index. Broad sense heritabilities were low or intermediary due to large environment effect on the character. Additive variance had important participation in the genetic variance, indicating little influence of dominance and/or epistasis.
