Injury of water stress to photosynthetic mechanism in rice

Injury of water stress to photosynthetic mechanism in rice

Journal of Jiangsu Agricultural College 14(2): 13-17

In pot experiments, the effects of water stress on the photosynthetic mechanism in rice Shanyou 3 was studied by the CO2 exchange method. The photosynthetic rate in rice leaves was highly susceptible to water stress. The photosynthetic rate decreased by 60% when the leaf water potential decreased from -6.2 to -12.5 bar. The decrease of photosynthetic rate was parallel to that of stomatal conductivity.
