Inoculation techniques of pathogens and effect of resistance identification of maize stalk rot

Three strains of Fusarium graminearum 2 strains of F. moniliforme and 7 strains of Pythium sp. were cultured on maize grain medium and then inoculated singly or in combination to the maize Jichen Dan No. 3 and Ye Dan No. 2 at the 6-8 leaf stage or at flowering. Single or mixed inoculations caused symptoms typical of maize stalk rot, and rates of pathogenesis were greater following inoculation at the 6-8 leaf stage.
