Insecticidal properties of certain indigenous plant oils against Sitophilus zeamais Mots

Insecticidal properties of certain indigenous plant oils against Sitophilus zeamais Mots

Applied Entomology and Phytopathology 60(1&2): 19-27, ar 91

Laboratory experiments were conducted to assess the toxicity of plant oil extracts from Monodora tenuifolia, Lippia adoensis, Cymbopogon citratus and Petiveria alliacea against Sitophilus zeamais. Increased mortality of this pest compared with the control was recorded for all the extracts at dose rates of 0.1, 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0 ml oil/50 g maize.
