Integrated nutrient management of rice (Oryza sativa)-groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) cropping system in Aeric Haplaquepts

Results from field experiments in Orissa, India, in which P (as urea), P (as rock phosphate or superphosphate) S (as gypsum), blue-green algae and green manures or paper mill sludge (as liming material) were applied to a rice-groundnuts rotation are presented. It was concluded that on lateritic soils liming and application of S fertilizer gave the best results. It was recommended that P fertilizer should be applied to rice only.
