Experiments were conducted at Sirugamani, Tamil Nadu during 1989-90, to study the effectiveness of isoproturon (Arelon) and fluchloralin (Basalin) for controlling weeds in 5 sugarcane intercropping systems and their effect on growth, yield and quality characters of sugarcane as well as weed control efficiency and cost benefit ratio of intercropping.
