The analysis of several milkability parameters and their relationships to milk yield and somatic cell count (SCC) was based on data from progeny testing of milkability from 1988-91. The most important environmental factors for milking time and average milk flow rate (DMG) were the measuring equipment for milk yield and the milk yield per day. Heritabilities (hsuperscript 2) ranged from 0.09 to 0.25 for milking time and from 0.15 to 0.22 for DMG.
