In a field experiment at Gudha, Karnal, India, on a Zn-deficient sodic soil (Aquic Natrustalf) amended with gypsum at 12.5 t/ha, rice Jaya was given 0, 55 or 110 kg Fe/ha and/or 0 or 11 kg Zn/ha supplied as their sulphates. Application of Zn significantly increased grain and straw yield and available soil and plant Zn, irrespective of Fe application. The greatest response to Zn was obtained when Fe was applied at the highest rate.
