, : Laboratory studies on the biology of Choetospila elegans Westwood (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae), a parasite of stored grain pests. Bangladesh Journal of Scientific and Industrial Research 28(4): 53-59

The biology of the ant-like pteromalid parasitoid, Choetospila elegans was carried out on its host, Sitophilus oryzae. The parasitoid completed its life cycle in 16.93 +or- 1.21 days at a constant temperature of 30 +or- 1 degrees C. The parasitoid passed through 3 larval instars, prepupal and pupal stages during its development. The incubation, larval, prepupal and pupal periods lasted 1.5 +or- 0.07, 6.51 +or- 0.58, 0.91 +or- 0.07 and 8.01 +or- 0.45 days, resp.
