Lactose concentration in samples of bulk tank milk

Lactose concentration in samples of bulk tank milk was monitored weekly in 500 dairy cows from 11 farms in Slovenia during an 8-month period. It was established that husbandry significantly (P<0.001) affected urea level in milk. The significant (P = 0.003) negative relationship (r = -0.1371) between lactose concentration and somatic cell count was also evaluated.
