The influence of chocolate milk, skim milk, sucrose, whole milk, and lactic cultures on lactose malabsorption was investigated. The findings of the study illustrate that there is a positive correlation between the number of subjects reporting flatulence and the peak breath hydrogen and between the number of subjects reporting cramps and the peak breath hydrogen excretion. The consumption of cornflakes with milk caused a significant reduction in the symptoms compared with the other products investigated.
