Laguna 89: a cotton cultivar resistant to wilt (Verticillium dahliae K.)

Derived from a cross involving Acala B3080, Delcot 277 and PD2165 (Acala B3080 being the source of V. dahliae resistance), this Gossypium hirsutum cultivar produces fibre of better quality than cultivars commercially grown in Mexico. It is a midearly type with a growth period 7-10 days shorter than in Deltapine 80 and produces shorter fruiting branches than most cultivars grown in the region.
