The peripheral cutting-edge of a router bit machines the surfaces of workpieces at a rapid spindle speed during peripheral milling. In this study, cutting tests on wood were made with a numerically controlled router machine to make clear the influences of the radial rake angle of the peripheral cutting-edge on the cutting force and on the machined-surface roughness.
