Field experiments on sandy clay loam soil in 1989-93 at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu compared sugarcane Co 6304 and Co 8021 productivity and water use efficiency under 3 irrigation methods. Drip irrigation required 44% less water than the conventional furrow irrigation.
