Groups of 20 day-old broiler-type cock chicks were given a basal diet with inadequate cholecalciferol, 125 IU/kg, and supplemented with boron as orthoboric acid to provide B 0.16, 0.28, 0.44, 0.66, 1.01, 1.90 or 3.33 mg/kg. Growth of chicks given B 3.33 mg/kg was much better than that with only 0.16 mg/kg.
