Plant regeneration from seedling-derived callus of dodder (Cuscuta trifolii Bab. et Giggs)

Plant regeneration from seedling-derived callus of dodder (Cuscuta trifolii Bab. et Giggs)

Plant Science Limerick 109(1): 95-101

DOI: 10.1016/0168-9452(95)04152-k

Callus was induced and plants were regenerated for Cuscuta trifolii, the obligatory parasite of Medicago sativa Callus was initiated on young seedlings grown in liquid culture medium consisting of Murashige and Skoog basal salts, Gamborg's vitamins (MSB5), 5 mg/l kinetin and 0.75 mg/l 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D). The structure of callus tissue depended on the carbohydrates supplied.
