Seed and tuber yield of winged beans (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus (L.) DC.) in Venezuela

In a field trial in 1990/91 on neutral sandy loam in Maracay, Venezuela, P. tetragonolobus was sown at intra-row spacings of 0.3 or 0.6 m and inter-row spacings of 0.6 or 1.0 m, was supported by poles and wire and seed was harvested when >70% of pods reached maturity. In a second trial plants were grown without support and tubers were harvested 3-8 months after sowing.
