Sire evaluation and environmental and genetic trends of milk yield of water buffaloes

Breeding values of 34 bulls were estimated by mixed model methodology based on data recorded on 735 lactations of 383 buffalo cows in 1942-78. Breeding values ranged from -719.6 to +614.3 kg milk, 21 of the sires having negative breeding values.
