Sire x farm interactions for some milk production efficiency traits in dairy cattle

Data were collected on 1347 crossbred cattle from 8 farms between 1970 and 1978. The cattle were the progeny of 17 Holstein sires and had 50, 62.5 or 75% Holstein inheritance. Ranking of sires, based on least-square means, was carried out on each farm and genetic group for milk yield per day of age at 2nd calving and 1st-lactation milk yield per kg body weight at 1st calving per day of 1st lactation length.
