In Korea Republic, thirteen forest community types were identified, including Quercus serrata community (from altitude 700 m to 1000 m, on ridges), Carpinus laxiflora community in the valleys, Quercus mongolica community from 1000 m to 1400 m, and Abies koreana and A. nephrolepis communities from 1400 m to 1700 m.
