The assessment of body composition in the elderly



Age and Nutrition 4(1): 34-39



Body composition was studied in 52 healthy men and 51 women 60 to 83 years old using densitometry, anthropometry and bioelectrical impedance. Age- and sex-specific prediction formulae for body composition from the literature, using anthropometric data or bioelectrical impedance, were compared with the densitometric estimated body composition as reference.
