Abstract
Preliminary results (3 vegetative seasons)are reported from trials with 9 species introduced into poor coniferous forest sites in Poland: Acer platanoides, Fagus sylvatica, Tilia cordata, Sorbaria sorbifolia, Quercus rubra, Alnus incana, Quercus sessiliflora [Q. petraea], Carpinus betulus and Prunus serotina. Fencing against wild animals influenced rooting and growth favourably.
