30 pluriparous Friesian cows, 4-7 years old, with ovarian cysts diagnosed clinically or ultrasonographically, were treated between the 37th and 75th days after calving by a subcutaneous implantation of an osmotic pump containing 250 micro g of the GnRH analogue buserelin. The pump was left in situ for 3 days to deliver 180 micro g of buserelin at the rate of 2.5 micro g/h.
