Abstract
Zoogeographical diagnoses of the 498 species of Cecidomyiidae known to occur in the Czech Republic are given. The following information is given for each species: number of localities in which it was recorded; frequency grouping (in 1 of 6 groups); character of long-term changes in population density; altitudinal range and belt of maximum occurrence; and vertical occurrence (in 1 of 5 groups). Species with very low population density are designated as extinct, endangered or vulnerable.
