Towards sustainable rural development using the participatory approach: the case of Mgeta farmers, Morogoro rural district

This case study considers whether participatory approaches can be used in practice to ensure sustainable development. An analysis was conducted of the Upper Mgeta Horticultural Development Project (UMHODEP), a research and extension project in the Faculty of Agriculture, Sokoine University of Agriculture, based in the Upper Mgeta ward of Morogoro district, Tanzania.
