The environmental regulatory issues that would arise in connection with installing a nitrophosphate manufacturing facility in USA are examined. The effect of environmental regulations on economic viability of the wet process in European countries is discussed, while the lack of commercial success of nitrophosphate production in the USA is considered. Federal, state and local environmental regulations that would apply to a nitrophosphate plant built and operated in USA are analysed.
