Wind tunnel experiments on salty wind damage of young deciduous trees

Salty wind damage on landscaping trees is thought to be caused by the complex of physical effect by wind blow and of chemical effect by adhering salt. In this study, we investigated the condition of damage for 3 landscaping tree species (Acer palmatum, Ginkgo biloba, Zelkova serrata) using a wind tunnel. The result showed the complex effects and common patterns in effect-complex were presented corresponding to sample condition as living seedling and cut twig.
