A mathematical simulation of thermoregulatory behaviour in an orb-weaving spider

A mathematical simulation of thermoregulatory behaviour in an orb-weaving spider

Functional Ecology. June; 103: 322-327

A model of interception of solar radiation was developed in order to examine the thermoregulatory effectiveness of observed behaviour compared with other possible behaviour and used with data collected from a population of the orb-weaving spider Nephila clavipes inhabiting a mid-altitude Mexican desert in July and October, 1991.
