Of a number of treatments consisting of application of neem seed extract and insecticides against Helicoverpa armigera on pigeon pea in Karnataka, India, in 1989-90, the lowest percentage pod damage and highest grain yield were recorded when fenvalerate was applied twice at 15-day intervals followed by neem seed extract at another 15-day interval.
