A sustainable transport policy for tourism on small islands: a case study of Malta



Sustainable tourism in islands and small states: case studies: 180-198



This chapter argues that one clear cause of environmental damage is the motor car, and suggests ways in which the privately owned but highly regulated public transport sector in Malta could be improved to meet tourist demand and persuade the Maltese, who also rely greatly on the motor car, to use buses.
