Anther culture of photosensitive male sterile rice and selection of Miai 64s

Anthers with microspores at the late uninucleate phase from 7 indica photosensitive male sterile (p-ms) lines and their F1 hybrids were cultured. The 7 p-ms lines and their F1 hybrids produced 0-34.5% green plantlets, which was higher than in common indica rice cultivars and F1 hybrids from indica x indica and indica x japonica crosses.
