Bayesian estimation of an almost ideal demand system for fresh fruit in Portugal

, : Bayesian estimation of an almost ideal demand system for fresh fruit in Portugal. European Review of Agricultural Economics 22(4): 469-480

This paper presents the results from estimating an Almost Ideal Demand System for fresh fruit in Portugal. A complete matrix of price and expenditure elasticities of demand for apples, pears, oranges, peaches, cherries and plums is reported. A Bayesian approach is used to impose curvature and monotonicity restrictions in the model.
