Bean characteristics and cup quality of the Colombia variety (Coffea arabica) as judged by international tasting panels

, : Bean characteristics and cup quality of the Colombia variety (Coffea arabica) as judged by international tasting panels. 16th International scientific colloquium on coffee, Kyoto, Japan, 9-14 Apr 1995 Volume 2: 574-578

National and international taste panels could not find any differences between the cup quality produced by Colombia coffee and other cultivars such as Typica, Bourbon and Caturra which are considered to be of good quality. Any differences in acidity, body and flavour between the 4 cultivars tested were not consistent and were possibly due to differences in processing of the beans.
