Beauveria bassiana as a biological control agent against forest pests Poeciloceris pictus (Acridae, Orthoptera) and Brachytrupes portentosus (Gryllidae, Orthoptera)

, : Beauveria bassiana as a biological control agent against forest pests Poeciloceris pictus (Acridae, Orthoptera) and Brachytrupes portentosus (Gryllidae, Orthoptera). Pakistan Journal of Forestry 44(3): 120-124

The entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana was tested as a biological control agent against the forest nursery pests Poeciloceris pictus and Brachytrupes portentosus (Tarbinskiellus portentosus) in the laboratory at a controlled temperature of 25-35 degrees and 55-65% relative humidity. Beauveria bassiana was tested at doses of 0.4-0.8x104, and gave significant mortality after 96 h and up to 168 h after treatment.
