Beef Classification and Grading Review: interim report on the estimation of saleable meat yield

Beef Classification and Grading Review: interim report on the estimation of saleable meat yield
In 1994, the Department of Research and Specialist Services of the Ministry of Agriculture, Zimbabwe, began a 3-year research project to develop live animal and carcass classification methodologies that reliably predict saleable meat yield in cattle, and that could be adopted as a national system. The paper describes the project, and presents interim results for the 1st year.
