Behavior of hybrid of coconut Cocos nucifera in relation to small-verrucose Phyllachora torrendiella and big-verrucose Sphaerodothis acrocomiae

, : Behavior of hybrid of coconut Cocos nucifera in relation to small-verrucose Phyllachora torrendiella and big-verrucose Sphaerodothis acrocomiae. Fitopatologia Brasileira 21(3): 325-327

Five coconut hybrids introduced from Cote d'Ivoire were evaluated for their susceptibility to P. torrendiella and S. acrocomiae in Sergipe, Brazil. Six leaflets were collected monthly from selected coconut trees and the number of stromata of the pathogen on the leaflets were counted. The leaflets were collected from leaf 7 in 1987; leaf 10 in 1988, and the 6 last leaves from 1989 to 1990. The number of leaves alive on each tree, the temp., RH and rainfall were also recorded monthly.
