Behaviour of Balady mandarin trees (Citrus reticulata L.) grown in sandy soil to different forms and concentrations of potassium foliar sprays
Mandarin Balady trees growing at Mallawy in Egypt on a sandy soil were sprayed with K fertilizer (0.5 or 1.0% K2O) in the form of nitrate, sulfate or chloride. Best results were obtained with potassium nitrate, which resulted in the greatest growth, leaf K and N contents, fruit set, weight, yield, TSS, total sugars and vitamin C content, and the lowest leaf P, Mg, Ca, Fe, Zn and Cu contents, fruit peel weight and thickness and total acidity.
