, : Behaviour of weaned piglets during the 48-h period after infection with Escherichia coli. Stocarstvo 50(4): 251-264

Seven piglets aged 21 days were divided into 2 group to study the effect of E. coli infection on behaviour. The piglets in the experimental group were infected intragastrically with 1010 cfu of enteropathogenic E. coli whereas the piglets in the control group received a placebo. The frequency of eating, lying, defaecating and object biting per hour were 0.988, 1.888, 0.192 and 0.013, respectively, for the experimental group and 0.656, 1.573, 0.073 and 0.094 for the controls.
