Blast resistance and eating quality in Japanese major rice cultivars and local lines of Aichi-ken Agricultural Research Center Mountainous Region Experiment Farm

In general, a negative correlation was found between blast resistance and eating quality in the major Japanese cultivars, except for Aoinokaze which had high field resistance and good eating quality. This negative correlation was not observed in the Aichi-ken Agricultural Research Center Mountainous Region Experiment Farm lines, some of which showed high resistance and good quality.
