Cereal aphids and their population dynamics in wheat and barley fields of Tehran province

Ten aphid species belonging to 4 families were collected and identified during weekly samplings in 1993-94 in wheat and barley fields of Varamin, Karadj and Firoozkooh, Iran. The population density of 4 species was very low and did not exceed 2% of the total collected aphids. Sitobion avenae accounted for 31.7-94.5% of the aphids collected. In 1-ha plots at the 3 sites, the population dynamics of aphids were studied.
