Characterization and evaluation of water-submersion resistance in ramie germplasms



China' s Fibre Crops ( 1): 7-12



The runners, regenerated suckers and potted plants of 10 accessions of ramie (Boehmeria nivea) were subjected to water submersion for 0-120 h. The runners had an injury rate of 58.6, 88.97 and 100%, and a mortality rate of 0, 20 and 100%, respectively, at 48, 72 and 96 h. The sucker plants had a mortality rate of 100% at 48 h and 72 h, respectively, when the plants were completely or partially submerged.
