Characterization and management of resources for sustainable productivity of soybean-a review

Characterization and management of resources for sustainable productivity of soybean-a review

Agricultural Reviews Karnal 16(4): 186-202

Productivity of soyabeans depends upon optimum root and shoot growth which ultimately depends on many factors. The optimum temperatures for soyabean germination and growth are 32-36 degrees C and 26-30 degrees , respectively. An oxygen diffusion rate of about 20 x 10-8 g cm-2 min-1 has been reported to be optimum for maximum soyabean root growth. Soil moisture stress beyond 0.5 bars adversely affects root and shoot growth.
